Te Wiki ō Te Reo o Tonga

Yesterday, I was at my cousin's house playing GTA, but
babysitting at the same time. It was quite boring because I
played almost all day. I was so tired, I hated it there because
my cousin would sit on her phone and go on Instagram and play
games while I babysat.

Te Wiki ō Te Reo o Tonga

On Tuesday 3rd of September 2019 there were 2 manuhiri

(visitors) who came to Tāmaki Primary one was called Matua

 Filipe Tohi.

Matua Filipe Tohi a known Tongan artist would be coming to

show Kia toa syndicate the art of Lalava. They came to show

us their traditional Tongan arts. They told us about their

traditional patterns like this one.

Did you know if you type up Tongan patterns and you find the

bottom and you turn it upside down there will birds but if you

leave it you can see a fish. The top pattern Matua filipe said

“Theres alot of patterns” but no one knows because he never

told us. He also told us about his traditional building.

This one he told us and said that he built by hand im pretty

sure and made many things but I can't find them. And after that

we had to stand up and line up for kapa haka straight when they finished.

After that we left to go back to class.
